Historical Dolls by Tabbycat

Historical

These dolls are based on actual fashions from the past.

This was originally supposed to be Catta, but it didn't look much like her. This is based on an image I found in a 20s fashion book.

This was made as a request at the Gathering, so NO ADOPTING! I like the hat, and lots of other things about this one... I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

This was made for a challenge at 'The Gathering' I really like how she turned out. Her dress was originally jade green, but I played with the manual color changer. :) I don't like her hat so well, though.

This was my entry in DHF's late 60's contest. I like her hair.

This was my entry in Kellzaba's Medieval Ball Contest. I thought that they would turn out better than they did, but they still turned out okay. The wimple is very nice, and I did a long surcoat on the guy.

This was a request at TG, so NO ADOPTING! This is another medieval doll, which I based on a picture. I like the ermine arm-things, but the main dress doesn't look too good. I was trying to do velvet...

This was a request at TG, so NO ADOPTING! I'm not too happy with this one... I had such hopes for it, too... Not really historical (based on a costume), but wouldn't really go anywhere else.

I just had this idea for a Regency-inspired doll that looked like this. The shawl's not as nice as I would have liked it, but I'm quite happy with the rest of it.

This was a request at TG, so NO ADOPTING! Calli Berry asked me to draw her a Moulin Rouge dancer. I quite like the feathers here. Some of my first ones that actually look really nice. Not so thrilled about the skirt, though. I don't really suppose that she's too historical...

This was an entry in the 'Murder Mystery' contest at Individuality. She's an out-of-work actress who killed Dr. Dryden with a book. I love the folds on this doll! (She's Victorian, by the way)
Astarte Milbanke|base

A medieval gown. The folds are a bit iffy looking, though I like the new technique I used. It just needs some improvement.
Rosalie|base

More iffy historical. The hair, I love, though. This is an Edwardian gown from 1913.
Pamela|base

A forties doll in pink. I like her hair...
Susan|base

This one is a fifties teen--she ought to have a telephone or something. I like her face. :)
